Native American Law Center Student Resources
Curriculum
We offer a series of courses focused on American Indian, tribal, and Indigenous law issues along with the clinical program described above. Currently, we offer up to 32 credits of coursework across the following elective courses available to second- and third-year law students as well as other graduate students (subject to approval):
- A565 American Indian Law (4 credits)
- B584 Indigenous Governance (4 credits)
- E531 Indigenous Economic Development and the Law (4 credits)
- B529 Advanced Environmental Law — Restoration of the Elwha River (4 credits)
- E555 Legislative Law & Drafting Workshop (4 credits)
- E529 Tribal Court Clinic (up to 12 credits)
Summer Internships
In addition to student engagement through the Clinic, independent studies, and other paid and academic opportunities, the program offers 2–3 summer work-study positions, centered in Tribal Court advocacy and to assist with Center projects.
