Darcy Covert joined the University of Washington School of Law in 2024 as an Affiliate Instructor teaching Federal Courts. She is also a Staff Attorney at the King County Department of Public Defense. Her scholarship is at the intersection of institutional power and criminal law and has been published in Vanderbilt Law Review and Wisconsin Law Review. Her work has been covered in outlets including the New York Times, and she has appeared on air and in print in publications such as The Atlantic.
Darcy earned her B.S., magna cum laude, from Tufts University (2015) and her J.D. from Yale Law School (2020). She clerked for Judge Jennifer Sung of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
