Sara Raza is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Washington School of Law. Prior to joining UW, she was a Senior Clinical Fellow in the Health Law and Policy Clinic at the Center for Health Law and Policy Innovation of Harvard Law School (CHLPI). At CHLPI, Raza led broadband access and digital health projects aimed at improving access to care and addressing health-related social needs through high-speed internet access. As a result of this work, she was awarded the Opportunity Fund Fellowship by the Benton Institute for Broadband & Society.
As an Opportunity Fund Fellow, Raza’s research focuses on bridging the broadband–health gap by identifying policy pathways that better integrate broadband infrastructure into health care delivery and financing systems. At CHLPI, Raza also helped lead the Food is Medicine Accelerator Program, a year-long training program for medically tailored meals (MTM) providers. In this role, she advised nonprofit food banks and nutrition organizations on Medicaid and Medicare policy opportunities to expand access to medically tailored meals for individuals with diet-related chronic illnesses.
Raza’s scholarship has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including npj Digital Medicine, Cancer: An International Interdisciplinary Journal of the American Cancer Society and BMJ. She is also a Fellow of the Internet Law and Policy Foundry, a professional development organization for early-career law, technology and policy professionals that supports thoughtful engagement with issues surrounding emerging technologies.
Prior to pursuing her LL.M., Raza practiced law abroad, beginning her career in private practice before moving into an in-house role. She is licensed to practice law in New York and holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School, where she focused on the intersection of health law, technology and policy.
