LAW A 577 Immigration Law

Haiyun Damon-Feng is Assistant Director of the Gates Public Service Law Program and a member of the law school's Affiliate Faculty, teaching courses on Immigration Law and Public Interest Lawyering.

Prior to joining UW, Haiyun served as pro bono counsel for the Seattle based firm Foster Garvey.  She was previously an attorney with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) and has been a pro bono attorney with the ACLU Immigrant Rights Project and the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project.  Haiyun also partners with Define American, an immigration focused media and culture change organization, and advises on immigration law related storylines on television.  She has consulted on shows including NBC's Superstore and Sunnyside and HBO's Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

Haiyun is a graduate of Yale Law School, where she served as a Senior Editor for the Yale Journal on Regulation and as a Student Director for the Immigration Clinic at the Jerome N. Frank Legal Services Organization.  She began her career as an associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York, where she maintained an active pro bono practice.  Haiyun is admitted to practice law in New York and Washington.  She speaks Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.
