Celebrate the Class of 2022 on the Quad

Class of 2022 Events

UW Law is excited to announce that the 2022 commencement will be a traditional, in-person ceremony on Sunday, June 5, on the UW Quad, in the heart of the UW Seattle campus. The ceremony will begin at 4 p.m.

The ceremony returns to campus after two virtual commencements for UW Law Dawgs in 2020 and 2021 and several years at off-campus locations.

“We are delighted to hold the 2022 UW Law commencement ceremony on the historic Quad as part of many celebrations in the broader UW community,” said Elizabeth Porter, interim Toni Rembe dean and professor of law. “UW Law welcomes this return to an in-person commencement to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2022, welcome graduates from all our programs to the alumni community, and thank faculty and staff for a successful year.”

UW Law will host a special reception prior to the ceremony on June 5 for the Class of 2022 graduates at William H. Gates Hall. UW Law graduates are also able to participate in the UW Commencement on June 11. Additional details about participating in that ceremony, as well as information on ordering regalia for both the UW and UW Law ceremonies, is available on the UW Office of Ceremonies website.

Participants

All graduates are required to wear cap and gown, which may be purchased through the UW Office of Ceremonies Registration/Order Form, beginning in early May. Graduates are responsible for ordering and distributing guest tickets, as needed, for their friends and family.

Tickets

Entrance tickets will be required for our students’ guests. All tickets are complimentary and should be ordered by the graduate. More information on this process is forthcoming.

Reserved disability seating is available for guests in wheelchairs, guests with mobility impairment and guests needing American Sign Language. Graduates can request this accommodation when they order tickets.

Classes of 2020 and 2021

UW Law will also have a separate reception on June 12 honoring alumni from the Classes of 2020 and 2021 who were not able to celebrate in person. More information about the reception is forthcoming.
