Kristina Larry Elected to the Washington State Bar Association Board of Governors
Kristina Larry, staff attorney with UW Law’s Moderate Means Program (MMP) and lecturer of the program’s practicum, has been elected to the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) Board of Governors.
The new governors-elect, who were determined by the April 3 election, will serve three-year terms. They will be sworn into office at the end of the Sept. 8–9 Board of Governors meeting.
Directed by the Washington Supreme Court, the Board of Governors is the WSBA’s governing body that determines the Bar’s general policies and annual budget through strategy, leadership and oversight of the organization.
According to the WSBA website, “Service on the Board requires vision, leadership, diplomacy, and passion in pursuit of the WSBA's mission to serve the public and the members of the WSBA, to ensure the integrity of the legal profession and to champion justice.”
Larry is the managing attorney of Sassy Litigations, in Federal Way, a firm she launched in 2012 which focuses on family, business and trademark law. She also created the legal sub-brands The Prenup Princess and The Seattle Wedding Lawyer.
Larry teaches family, housing and consumer law at UW Law through the MMP Practicum, a hands-on, experiential course that provides help to low and moderate means individuals in Washington State who need civil legal assistance and provides students practical work experience that enhances their skills such as interviewing, issue spotting, legal research and legal writing.
Ms. Larry currently serves on the Practice of Law Board, a Washington Supreme Court-created board. Ms. Larry completed her undergraduate work at the University of Wyoming and earned her J.D. degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University.
