Welcome to UW Law’s “Got a Minute?” series. These are fun, short-answer interviews with 20 rapid-fire questions. We’ll find students throughout William H. Gates Hall as they study, wait for class or hangout with their classmates.
This week’s “Got a Minute?” interview is with Kameron Harmon, 3L.
UW Law: Are you originally from Seattle, and if not, where?
Kameron Harmon (KH): I’m originally from Concord, California, in the Bay Area.
UW Law: What's one interesting fact about where you're from?
KH: I went to school at De La Salle, which is a high school that has the longest winning streak of any high school football team.
UW Law: Where did you earn your undergraduate degree?
KH: I went to UW.
UW Law: Did you take time off between undergrad and law school?
KH: No, and I actually took three years to graduate undergrad, so I went straight through, and I was mostly on Zoom for undergrad. So, it was a blur.
UW Law: Who would play you in a movie about your law school journey?
KH: I'll say Zachary Quinto.
UW Law: Without looking, how many glass structures are in the courtyard?
KH: Either three or four. I think it's three.
UW Law: Four. Which fictional lawyer do you think would make the best law professor?
KH: I would probably say Annalise Keating from How to Get Away with Murder. She would probably scare all the 1Ls, but it would be entertaining — and they would learn a lot.
UW Law: Which historical legal case would you time travel to witness in person?
KH: I'll say Obergefell, which is only 2015, I think. But that was an interesting one.
UW Law: If you could give out one superlative to any professor, what would it be and who would win?
KH: Karen box for Funniest Professor.
UW Law: Which professor do you think would come up with the best legal joke?
KH: Karen box, but unintentionally.
UW Law: Which legal term would make the best name for a band?
KH: Public Nuisance, or something like that.
UW Law: Where's your favorite spot to get a bite of food nearby?
KH: Probably, BBs Teriyaki.
UW Law: If you could have any superpower related to law, what would it?
KH: I would say read people's minds. It would make negotiating a lot easier.
UW Law: If you could ask any professor for a book recommendation on anything that doesn't deal with the law, who would you ask and what would the subject be?
KH: Eric Eberhard. I would probably ask him for something with regards to restoration of rivers, or restoration of the salmon population in Washington.
UW Law: If you had to argue in favor of pineapple on pizza in court, what would your opening statement be?
KH: Eight billion people on this planet, and you think you pick the best toppings? Well, think again.
UW Law: What was the most recent class you attended, and what was a highlight from that class?
KH: I'm only taking one — Indigenous governance — and we're learning about the Crown's obligations under treaties for Canadian tribes, or Canadian “bands” as they’re referred to up there.
UW Law: What was the name of Elle Woods’s dog in “Legally Blonde”?
KH: Bruiser Woods.
UW Law: What area of law would you like to pursue after you receive your J.D.?
KH: I want to do either environmental prosecution or torts personal injury.
UW Law: Which lawyers, real or fictional, would make up your legal dream team.
KH: I guess it would depend on the case, but I would say this person I work with, Dana, is amazing, and I would go with Annalise Keating and Roberta Kaplan as well. I'll also take Nick brown because he's a nice guy.
UW Law: What's one interesting thing about you that people may not know?
KH: I know conversational sign language.
