2020 Bar Information
We are keeping track of summer bar exams nationwide and will be updating this site frequently as information is forthcoming.
Bar Review Courses
The 3 bar review courses that table on campus (Themis, BarBri & Kaplan) have all indicated that they are aware of the NCBE’s announcement, will be awaiting the May 5 announcement and have plans to support student studying whether their bar exam will be in the summer or the fall. If you run into issues, contact Dean West.
The National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE) has announced that, in addition to preparing materials for a July bar exam, they will make bar exam materials available for administrations on both September 9–10 and September 30 – October 1. Each state will determine whether to offer the exam in July, early September, or late September.
See NCBE COVID-19 Updates for more information.
Washington’s law school deans have been communicating with the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) regarding the July examination in Washington. The WSBA has indicated a preference for holding a July bar examination if it is possible to do so while complying with the governor’s mandates on gatherings and social distancing. The WSBA plans to announce its decision on when and how they will administer the bar no later than May 5, but hopefully sooner. Our conversations with the WSBA and other Washington law school deans are ongoing, and we continue to explore all available options.
